What are the differences between lions and tigers?

Tigers have bold black stripes but lions are taller.  Tigers are the largest felines in the world and can reach up to 12.5 feet in length (including the tail) and up to 650 pounds. On their part, lions tend to weigh between 330 and 550 kilos and measure between 6.5 and 11 feet. Interestingly, lions have longer tails than tigers.Which is more dangerous a tiger or a lion?Tigers seem to be more aggressive; they go for the throat. “Whereas the lions are more so they will just just pound you and play with you. In a fight the tiger often wins.


Lion cubs


Lion cubs are born with tawny black spots which eventually disappear as they grow older. When it is time to give birth a lioness leaves her pride and has her lion cubs in dense cover. Cubs remain hidden for one to two months before being introduced to the rest of the pride. Lion cubs start walking at 10 to 15 days old. At birth, the cubs only weigh around 2 to 4 pounds. (0.9 to 1.8 kg), and they’re completely dependent on their mother.

Tiger cubs


There are usually about three tiger cubs in a litter and they’re born small, blind and weak. They have all their stripes and drink their mother’s milk until they are six months old, and then only eat meat.Tiger cubs are born blind and only half of the cubs survive. The saddest part is that Tiger cubs are born blind and only a few survive. They only follow the scent of their mother. Tigers are the largest cat species in the world and the third-largest carnivore on land–only polar and brown bears are larger. An adult Amur or Siberian tiger (the largest subspecies) can weigh up to 660 pounds.



Tigers can survive 20-26 years in the wild.Unlike most big cats, tigers are powerful swimmers .Tigers are the largest cat species in the world reaching up to 3.3 meters in length and weighing up to 670 pounds.Tigers are easily recognizable with their dark vertical stripes and reddish/orange fur. Young tigers often play in water and adults will lounge in streams or lakes to stay cool during the heat of the day. Tigers do not live in permanent groups like lions do.What animal can kill a tiger?lions can

The lion has a special tongue that is rough enough to peel the skin of their prey away from the flesh.


The habitat



Tigers are found in amazingly diverse habitats: rain forests, grasslands, savannas and even mangrove swamps. Unfortunately, 93% of historical tiger lands have disappeared primarily because of expanding human activity. Saving tigers means saving rainforests  to help the health of the planet




Lions mainly stick to the grasslands, scrub, or open woodlands where they can more easily hunt their prey, but they can live in most habitats aside from tropical rainforests and deserts.Where can Lions be found?sub-Saharan Africa and Nearly all wild lions live in sub-Saharan Africa, but one small population of Asiatic lions exists in India’s Gir Forest. Asiatic lions and African lions are subspecies of the same species. Asiatic lions once prowled from the Middle East to India. Now, only a fraction of these magnificent animals survive in the wild.
